Now that the bowling has finished, Avon Sports Ground Maintenance have started the Autumn/Winter greens maintenance work. To begin with, both greens have been scarified to open the top surface. This is a two stage process, first with a light scarification that just touches the surface followed by a heavier scarification that penetrates deeper into the green. Following this, both greens have been given a top dressing. In November the heavy kit arrives to deep hollow tine the top green. Work will continue throughout winter to get the greens ready for next season.
