Bowls is a sport that is suitable for all ages and all abilities, which can be enjoyed by all the family.
New members are always welcome at Somerset’s Ashcombe Park Bowling Club, whether you are an experienced bowler or an absolute beginner. We have six qualified coaches who will take you from the very basics of bowls through to detailed technique analysis.
Before deciding on membership you can take advantage of six weeks free coaching while you get to know the Club and its members. The sessions are run from early April through to late September, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 10:00 until 12:00. Just turn-up or contact our Secretary for more information.
Bowls can be provided, all we ask is that you wear flat-soled shoes (no heel) with no or minimal tread. This is to avoid damage to the greens.
When you join Ashcombe Park Bowling Club you’ll have the opportunity to play in Club, local and County competitions and, who knows, maybe even at National level. Have a look at our Fixtures page to get an idea of what we do.
In addition to bowls we have many social activities, which continue in the Club House all through the winter months.
At Ashcombe Park Bowling Club we offer three categories for new members –
Open to anyone over the age of 18. As a Full Member you can enjoy all the facilities of the Club, on the greens and in the Club House, and are entitled to stand for election to the committees and vote at any General Meeting.
Open to anyone under the age of 18. As a Junior Member you can make use of all the facilities of the club, apart from those restricted by the Licensing Act, but are not eligible to stand for election or vote at General Meetings.
Open to those who wish to enjoy the social activities of the Club, but without voting rights or use of the greens.
