We are looking forward to welcoming you to Presidents Opening Day on Saturday 13 April. Our new President is Averill Goacher, who has been a member for 18 years, during which time she has served as Club Secretary, Club County Representative for over 10 years and was Ladies Captain in 2016. She will be supported in her role by Vice President, Terry Balchin.
Over the last two years, Averill has been painstakingly preserving and cataloguing Ashcombe Park’s wonderful archive of photographs and history, of which she is very proud, and over time we would like to put this all online.
President’s Opening Day starts at 2 pm and will start with the traditional Club photograph outside the Club House. Please wear your Club Shirt for this. Then there will be an Umbrella game followed by a meal in the Club House.
New President Averill says: “Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our Greens teams and all the work over the winter, the greens are in superb condition. We can’t wait to get the new season underway.
We’re also delighted to have updated our website over the winter season to make it easier for you to be able to keep up to date with all that is happening at the Club, but also do more online, for example, booking a rink, contacting members and sharing your availability.
I’m looking forward to working with Terry and the rest of the AEC, guiding the Club for what I hope will be another very successful season.”
