Carrying a bowl to the head

Are you allowed to take a bowl with you when you visit the head?

Yes, but it’s not advisable to do so. See below for the reason why.

If you do, and you accidentally drop it into the head, what happens?

The opponent must put any bowls disturbed back to their former positions. If the jack has been disturbed, the opponent must put it back to it’s former position. Which is why it is not advisable to carry your bowl to the head.

An enthusiastic number 2

In a fours game, the threes are deciding the number of shots at the completion of an end. Before they have finished, the number 2 of the side that is down starts to push the bowls back and disturbs the head. What happens?

Same as above.

The opponent must put any bowls disturbed back to their former positions. If the jack has been disturbed, the opponent must put it back to it’s former position.
